The rumor that's been going around for months has been confirmed. The Wall Street Journal says Sarah Palin has purchased a home in Scottsdale, Arizona listed at $1.695 milion, making Arizona officially the worst state on earth minus ten. It's the negative worst.

The walled and gated house sits on 4.4 acres and has a home theater, billiard room, walk-in wine room and "resort style backyard" with a gazebo and pool, according to the listing. The brown stucco-and-stone house, which was renovated this year, has several fireplaces, a six-car garage and mountain views. The property has a circular driveway and desert landscaping.

Speculation is abundant that Palin's move to the neighborhood a local real estate broker calls, "as rural as Scottsdale gets" is geared toward her presidential aspirations. No one considers Alaska or Hawaii real American states, apparently, (just ask Donald Trump), so the former Alaska governor had to move to the lower 48, and where better than the hotbed of psychotic, redneck voters, Arizona? Palin is already good buddies with governor Jan Brewer and her eldest daughter Bristol already lives in nearby Maricopa County, so it all kind of made sense that she would just put the conservative crazy cherry on top of the most terrifying state in the Union.

According to Politico's Andy Barr, who also confirmed the purchase last night on NPR's All Things Considered, the home will be the family's winter home and not a full-time move away from Alaska. ATC also coined a new word: Sara-zona. Host Michele Norris asked Barr, a native Arizonan, what he thinks Palin's chances are with Hispanic voters in the state:

NORRIS: Can Sarah Palin reach out to Hispanic voters effectively? That is very important for anyone who has political ambitions in a state like Arizona.

Mr. BARR: It is, and there's no indication that she can. I've been to a lot of rallies of hers and you rarely, rarely, rarely see faces that are not white and any younger than 50 years old. She has a very firm demographic hold. And I've seen very little evidence that she could encourage any minority group or any even younger voters to come out for her.

Wow! That is a huge amount for that structure! Actually, it is more than my cash advance! Oh my! I would not be expending that kind of amount for a house! I would rather save it for future use. =)

Well, I think the Republicans just wanted to lose the 2008 election. I firmly believe that the choosing of Sarah Palin was not a coincidence. They wanted to be certain their nominee, McCain, stood a snowballs chance in hell in winning. They knew full well, that whoever won, would inherit Dubya's mess and get the blame for the sad state of affairs that has befallen the US of A. Pretty much what has happened to the Obama administration since the beginning. The Republicans would just sit it out, make life hell for the incumbent, then in four years, comeback as the "saviors". However, middle class people still live on the verge of bankruptcy, through cash advance loans. Maybe this sounds rather Machiavellian, but hey, would you put it past them?
