Rumors: Shakira Could Replace JLo On American Idol

You know how JLo has been all wishy-washy about returning to America Idol? It turns out Idol producers aren't exactly begging her to stay either, says Popeater:

"'Idol' has resurrected her much-stalled music career," one music exec tells me, referring to 'On the Floor,' the singer's first radio hit in a while. "Likewise, 'Idol' didn't fall apart when Simon left and Jennifer has to get some of the credit for that. But let's also remember the show didn't increase in ratings and that is also thanks to J.Lo."

Apparently the likes of Shania Twain and Shakira are being suggested as potential replacements. Obviously nothing has been confirmed but could Shakira rake in bigger TV ratings than JLo? We think so. Shakira has a bigger Latino following and as Tom Hanks can tell you, we brownies mount up to A LOT of people. Also, Shakira's fans are fervent crazies. They'll watch anything she's in even if it's in Russian.
