Cartagena Mayor Thinks Secret Service Colombian Hooker Scandal Isn't Scandalous At All

So you heard about the 12 Secret Service agents that were relieved of their duty because they hooked up with prostitutes while working the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, right? Oh. You didn't? Well, yeah, that totally happened:

It was first believed that the Secret Service agents just had sex with the prostitutes, but now the New York Post is saying coke and whiskey also played a hand in the awesome-sounding pachanga:

"Cocaine and several bottles of whiskey apparently fueled the elite agents’ boneheaded fling with about 20 hookers at a posh hotel in Cartagena, Colombia, a hotel staffer told The Post."

Look, I know Colombia has a lot more going for itself than just coke and hot women, but you can't go down there and not try the blow, right? That would be like visiting Berkeley and not taking a hit of acid. Or like hanging out in the Sonoran desert and not chewing on peyote. "When in Rome," right?

Anyway. Everybody over here is making a big deal about this chisme but you know who doesn't give a donkey's ass? Cartagena's Mayor Campo Elias. Since prostitution is legal in Colombia, this "scandal" seems tedious to him:

"'It doesn't bother people at all,' Mayor Campo Elias said Tuesday, echoing many of his constituents. 'First, because adults were involved and, second, because here, it's normal.'

To find a prostitute, guests at the hotel where the Secret Service agents stayed ahead of President Barack Obama's recent visit need only step out to the beach. There, scrappy men peddle everything from shrimp cocktails to sex workers."

Wait, shrimp cocktails were also being sold? Did the Secret Service buy any of those? A party is not a party -- not with Colombia nalga, not with coke, not with booze -- if shrimp cocktails aren't being served.
